Aloha,
I would like to give my blessings, Aloha and Support to
Yuko "Napuanani" for not only perpetuating the art of
Hawaiian quilting but also for helping to continue my
grandmother "Aunty Debbie Kakalia's" Legacy.
I am very proud of my instructors for all of thier accomplishments
in the world of Hawaiian Quilting.
Yuko and I have become very good friends over the years
and we are in constant contact talking about Hawaiian
quilting, techniques, meanings patterns, inspirations
and history.
She has shown me that her love and passion for the art
of Hawaiian quilting is deep within her heart and her
desire to share this love and knowledge is pure.
I am very proud to recommend "Napuanani's Kapa Hui" to
anyone interested in learning this art.
Napua has taken quilting lessons from many of Hawaii's
top quilters over the years including my Grandmother Aunty
Debbie.
Many years ago it was my Grandmother who named Napua's
webshop "Hoaloha". I always teach to my students that
if you want to ever become an instructor one day you must
first learn, understand and live with the ALOHA SPIRIT
within your heart
. I know that Napua has the Aloha Spirit within her and
she has always shown it to me and her many clients.
With this and my blessings I know her classes will be
filled with warmth and comfort.
I wish you the very best Napua and I am sure my grandmother
is also giving you her blessings.
It takes a special person to fully understand our Hawaiian
ways and become and instructor in my Ohana.
I am very honored to have you as not only my friend but
also as one of my instructors.
I would like to say "E Komo Mai" (Welcome) to all who
join us. Learn the art , enjoy the art and mostly relax
and have fun while doing it. Aloha Pumehana "Warmest Love"
A Hui Ho "Until we meet again"
